Why Support Us?
Reformation Coffee began out of a desire to have quality coffee at home every day of the week. That desire became a reality and quickly grew into a passion, which then eventually grew into a business.
Our goal has always been to provide you with fresh, high quality coffee at an affordable price and to honor the Lord in every step along the way.
We want to help as many people as we can experience the best coffee possible at home instead of settling for coffee with poor quality from a business with poor character.
We don’t think that you should buy coffee from us simply because we are Christians, but because we are Christians who are committed to providing you with a superior product than the giant godless coffee conglomerates that exist.
It may sound silly, but we believe this is a way that we can contribute to a greater Christian society.
Additionally, we are a family owned business with a desire to build a lasting institution that can be passed on for generations to come.
When you support Reformation Coffee, you are supporting a family and a business that values God’s law, Christian households, honesty, integrity, fairness, and more.
Our tag line is “Reform your coffee experience” because we want to help you reform (improve) your coffee drinking as much as you may have reformed your theology.
Other Questions
Do you sell ground coffee?
No. Whole coffee beans are considered significantly fresher than ground coffee because once ground, coffee beans rapidly lose their volatile oils and aromas due to increased exposure to air, meaning they start to go stale much faster than when kept whole; therefore, for the best flavor, it's recommended to grind your beans just before brewing.
Do you offer custom roasting?
No. Here at Reformation Coffee Company we currently roast our coffee in 5-6lb batches. Due to volume, we are unable to roast specifically for customer requests. For the roast type, please see the coffee description and choose the one that fits your needs best!
Do you ship to Canada?
Not at this time. Here at Reformation Coffee Company we are looking into options to ship to different countries. Check back with us in the future.
Is your coffee organic?
Our Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Decaffeinated coffee are organic. We are looking into options for the other origins and blends.
Does coffee contain mold?
Yes...
Presence of mycotoxins:
Studies have detected mycotoxins like ochratoxin A in both green and roasted coffee beans.
Roasting process:
While roasting can reduce the level of mycotoxins, it doesn't completely eliminate them.
Minimal health risk:
Most experts agree that the levels of mold in commercially available coffee are generally considered too low to cause significant health problems for average coffee consumption.
Factors affecting mold levels:
Storage conditions, bean quality, and growing environment can impact the amount of mold in coffee. Brewing coffee at 195-200 degrees also kills most mold that may remain.
How we store and protect your coffee:
At Reformation Coffee Company we store raw coffee and roasted coffee in sealed food grade buckets in a humidity controlled environment to reduce the chance of any new mold growth.
Does dark roast have more caffeine?
No, dark roast coffee does not have more caffeine than light roast coffee. When measured by weight, the caffeine content of light and dark roast coffee is almost identical. When measured by volume, light roast coffee may have slightly more caffeine because the beans are denser than dark roast beans. Dark roast coffee is known for its bolder flavor, but this is due to its flavor, not its caffeine content.
